2023-24 Toyota E210 Corolla Hybrid Sedan: potential loss of steering control

In November 2024, recall campaign ZGGA1 was issued for 2023-24 Toyota E210 Corolla Hybrid Sedans. Due to a manufacturing defect, cracks could developed in the upper universal joint of the steering intermediate shaft assembly. Over time, these cracks could widen due to repeated stress and this could lead to a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control would significantly increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, an authorised Toyota dealer was to replace the steering intermediate shaft. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006191.

2022-24 Toyota E210 Corolla Hybrid Sedan: reduced braking performance

In December 2024, recall campaign ZGG91 was issued for 2022-24 Toyota E210 Corolla Hybrid Sedan vehicles. Due to a software issue in the skid control unit, greater pedal force may be required to reduce vehicle speed under certain driving conditions. This condition could increase braking distances and the risk of a collision, thereby increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, a Toyota dealer was to update the skid control unit software. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006193.
