2025-26 Toyota Mk.9 Hilux with Bull Bar or Nudge Bar: potential loss of power steering assistance

In April 2026, recall campaign 6WU02 was issued for 2025-26 Toyota Mk.9 Hilux vehicles equipped with a Toyota Genuine Bull Bar or Nudge Bar and light bar combination. When these acessories were fitted, the wire harness for the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) wire harness ground connection may have been re-installed incorrectly. This could cause a poor electrical contact, such that the driver may experience a sudden loss of power steering assistance while driving. This could increase the risk of a collision and injury o both vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, an authorised Toyota dealer was to inspect and, if required, rectify the fault. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006578.
