2024-25 BMW G45 X3: outer rear head restraints may move or detach
In July 2025, recall campaign 0052250200 was issued for 2024-25 BMW G45 X3 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the outer rear head restraints of the rear row seats may not have been manufactured correctly. In the event of a collision, these head restraints may move or detach from the seat, thereby increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006396.
2024–25 BMW G45 X3: faulty electrical connection in starter generator
In April 2025, recall campaign 0012380600 was issued for 2024–2025 BMW G45 X3 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, an electrical connection within the vehicle’s starter generator may not have been assembled to specifications – this could cause a sudden loss of power whilst driving. Furthermore, a faulty connection could also generate excessive heat, which could lead to a vehicle fire. A loss of power and/or vehicle fire could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants, other road users, bystanders and/or damage to property. To fix, an authorised BMW dealer was to check the affected components and, if required, replace the starter generator and associated wiring harness. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006334.
