Recalls: Ford P702 F-150
Overview
Manufacturers, or importers, issue recalls for defects or faults which have the potential to cause injury. Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.
Recalls: Ford P702 F-150
2021-23 Ford P702 F-150 LWB: non-compliance with ADR 13/00
In March 2024, recall campaign 24C05 was issued for 2021-23 Ford P702 F-150 LWB vehicles. These vehicles may have been fitted with side direction indicator lamps that did not comply with the Australian Design Rule 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light Signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles. While there was no safety hazard associated with this recall and the defect did not affect the performance of the vehicle, the vehicles were not compliant with Australian regulations. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005924. However, this recall was superseded by REC-006012 and REC-006014.
2022-23 Ford F-150 XLT SWB: non-compliance with ADR 13/00 and ADR 98/00
In July 2024, recall campaign 24C17 was issued for 2022-23 Ford F-150 XLT SWB vehicles. In these vehicles, the courtesy lamps, fog lamps and daytime running lamps did not comply with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles. Furthermore, if the driver of the vehicle chose to disable the Pre-Collision Assist (PCA) feature – which included the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) function – the AEB would not reactivate after an ignition cycle as required under ADR 98/00 – Advanced Emergency Braking for Passenger Vehicles and Light Goods Vehicles. These conditions could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.
For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006010.
2021-23 Ford F-150 Lariat LWB: non-compliance with ADR 06/00, ADR 13/00 and ADR 98/00
In July 2024, recall campaign 24C14 was issued for 2021-23 Ford F-150 Lariat LWB vehicles. In these vehicles, the side direction indicator lamps did not comply with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 06/00 – Direction Indicators. Furthermore, the courtesy lamps, fog lamps and daytime running lamps did not comply with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 13/00 – Installation of Lighting and Light-signalling Devices on other than L-Group Vehicles. Finally, if the driver of the vehicle chose to disable the Pre-Collision Assist (PCA) feature – which included the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) function – the AEB would not reactivate after an ignition cycle as required under ADR 98/00 – Advanced Emergency Braking for Passenger Vehicles and Light Goods Vehicles. These conditions could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006012.
2021-23 Ford F-150 Lariat SWB: non-compliance with ADR 13/00 and ADR 98/00
In July 2024, recall campaign 24C15 was issued for 2021-23 Ford F-150 Lariat SWB vehicles. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006013.
2021-23 Ford F-150 XLT LWB: non-compliance with ADR 06/00, ADR 13/00 and ADR 98/00
In July 2024, recall campaign 24C16 was issued for 2021-23 Ford F-150 XLT LWB vehicles. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006014.
2022-24 Ford P702 F-150: rear-view camera may not display when reversing
In June 2025, recall campaign 25S49 was issued for 2022-2024 Ford P702 F-150 vehicles. Due to a software issue, the rear-view camera may not display the rear-view image whilst reversing. If this occurred, it could increase the risk of a collision and serious injury to persons behind the vehicle. To fix, an authorised Ford dealer was to update the vehicle’s software. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006358.
2023-25 Ford F-150: rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break
In August 2025, recall campaign 25S82 was issued for 2023-25 Ford F-150 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break, causing damage to the wheel axle and axle hub splines over time. This could result in the vehicle moving whilst in “park” or a loss of drive, thereby increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants, bystanders and other road users. However, a broken wheel hub bolt would not result in wheel separation. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006408.
2020-22 Ford P702 F-150: rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break
In September 2025, Vehicle Development Corporation Pty Ltd issued recall campaign 23S65 for 2020-22 Ford P702 F-150 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the rear wheel hub bolts may become loose or break, causing damage to the wheel axle and axle hub splines over time. While a broken wheel hub bolt would not result in wheel separation, the vehicle may 1) move whilst park was selected, or 2) experience a loss of motive power whilst driving. These conditions increased the risk of injury to both vehicle occupants, bystanders and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006435.
2023 Ford P702 F-150: potential fuel vapour line damage and fire hazard
In November 2025, recall campaign 25SB9 was issued for 2023 Ford P702 F-150 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the fuel vapour line could come into contact with the coolant hose and suffer damage. This could result in a fuel smell and/or a coolant leak, and could cause a fire in the engine compartment. Furthermore, the vehicle may experience excessive coolant consumption, a lack of heater performance, reduced engine performance and driveability issues. If excessive coolant consumption occurred, the malfunction indicator warning light would display in the instrument cluster. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006483.
2021–25 Ford P702 F-150 with ARB Intensity Solis driving lights: auxiliary light wiring harness may cause vehicle fire
In December 2025, recall campaign 25SC8 was issued for 2021–25 Ford P702 F-150 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter the wiring harness for the ARB Intensity Solis driving lights, causing corrosion. If this occurred, it could generate excessive heat and a vehicle fire, while the vehicle was parked or driving. This posed a risk of injury to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and property damage. Until the defect was rectified by a Ford dealership, owners were advised to park their vehicles in an open space and away from flammable materials and structures. However, Ford’s initial fix was to provide instructions so that customers could deactivate the ARB Intensity Solis driving lights, until replacement parts became available. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006497.
2021–2023 Ford F-150 Lightning: moisture ingress may cause reverse lamps to malfunction
In January 2026, recall campaign REC-2026-0001 was issued for two 2021–2023 Ford F-150 Lightning vehicles that were distributed by AusEV, specifically Lariat and Platinum variants. Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter the rear light bar assembly unit. This could cause the reverse lamps to become inoperative or to flicker intermittently. If traffic behind the vehicle could not tell that the vehicle was reversing, this condition could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. This recall was issued and was to be remedied by AUSEV, not Ford. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006532.
2022-25 Ford F-150 Lightning: overheating charge port pins
In March 2026, recall campaign REC-2026-002 was issued for 2022-25 Ford F-150 Lightning vehicles that were distributed by AusEV Pty Ltd. Ford F-150 Lightning vehicles that were fitted with a Combined Charging System (CCS2) charge port may experience increased electrical resistance during high-power Direct Current (DC) fast charging – this could cause the internal charging pins to overheat. If a person made direct contact with the overheated charge port pins immediately after a charging session, there was a risk of burns or serious injury. Owners were advised to avoid charging the vehicle using DC fact chargers, and advised to use AC (Alternating Current) charging instead. Owners of the recalled vehicles could contact Performax International Pty Ltd to have their vehicle inspected and rectification works carried out. But since Performax did not supply these vehicles to the Australian market, they may charge owners for the rectification works. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006569.
2021-26 Ford F-150: trailer module software defect
In April 2026, recall campaign 26C10 was issued for 2021-26 Ford F-150 vehicles. Due to a software defect, the Trailer Module (TRM) may lose communication with the vehicle when a trailer is connected. This could result in a loss of trailer braking performance and the turn signal lights may not operate as intended. A loss of trailer control whilst driving or the signal lights not operating as intended could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, an authorised Ford Dealer was to update the TRM software. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006589.
