2013-15 Honda RM1/RM4/RE6 CR-V: Collision Mitigation Braking System faulty

In June 2015, a recall was issued for Honda CR-V vehicles that were fitted with Honda’s ‘Collision Mitigation Braking System’ (CMBS). In rare cases, the CMBS may interpret inanimate roadside objects as obstacles and apply emergency braking, increasing the risk of a collision (PRA 2015/14764). The recalled CR-V vehicles had VINs in the following ranges:

  • 2014 YM CR-V DTi-LT: SHSR36860EU400103 to SHSRE6860EU400103;
  • 2014YM CR-V VTi-LT: MRHRN4890EP040001 to MRHRM4890EP041712; and,
  • 2015YM CR-V VTi-LT: MRHRM4890FP060151 to MRHRM4890FP062000.

Honda RM1/RM4/RE6 CR-V: fuel pump could stop working and cause engine to stall

In July 2020, recall campaign 6FE was issued for 2017 Honda RM1/RM4/RE6 CR-V vehicles. Due to an improper manufacturing process, a component within the fuel pump could swell and cause the fuel pump to become inoperative. If the fuel pump stopped working, the engine could stall while driving – this could increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, a Honda dealer was to replace the fuel pump module. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-000585. In April 2025, recall campaign 6FE was re-notified as REC-005932 – AustralianCar.Reviews recommends that owners check this recall notice to see if their vehicle was recalled.
