2024-25 Volkswagen CT Tiguan: Emergency Assist and Travel Assist functions may deactivate
In October 2024, recall campaign 47BV was issued for 2024-25 Volkswagen CT Tiguan vehicles. Due to a software issue, if the driver did not have their hands on the steering wheel for an extended period, the brake jolt triggered by the Emergency Assist (EA) or Travel Assist (TA) assistance functions – which was meant to alert the driver – could be misinterpreted as the driver braking. If this occurred, the Emergency Assist (EA) and Travel Assist (TA) functions would be deactivated. The instrument cluster may also fail to issue visual and audible warnings if the safety functions were deactivated. This condition increased the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, an authorised Volkswagen dealer was to update the vehicle’s software. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006465.
