Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

2020-22 Audi GE e-tron 55: high-voltage battery could overheat and cause fire

In March 2024, recall campaign 93U9 was issued for 2020-22 Audi GE e-tron 55 vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the high-voltage battery may experience a thermal overload if charged over 80 per cent capacity. If this occurred, the battery could overheat and lead to a vehicle fire. This posed a risk of serious injury to vehicle occupants, other road users, and bystanders, as well as a risk of damage to property. Owners were advised to temporarily limit the battery charging target to 80 per cent capacity via the “Charging Target” menu in the multi-media interface or myAudi app. Development of a software update was ongoing when this recall was issued. As such, owners were to have the battery inspected by an authorised Audi dealership and, until the software update was completed, to return the vehicle for an inspection and potential replacement of the battery every four months. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-005926.
