2022 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV: lithium-ion battery module could cause fire

In October 2024, recall campaign 6LB was issued for 2022 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV vehicles. In these vehicles, the battery cell negative terminals within the lithium-ion battery module were produced with inadequate copper cladding and could fracture. If this occurred while the battery was energised, it could lead to a vehicle fire. A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury to vehicle occupants, other road users and bystanders, and the risk of damage to property. To fix, an authorised Honda Service Centre was to replace the battery. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006118.

2022-24 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV: Electronic Power Steering system and reduced assistance

In November 2024, recall campaign 6JP was issued for 2022-24 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV vehicles. In these vehicles, the worm wheel grease may be displaced over time. If this occurred, the Electronic Power Steering (EPS) system may not operate as intended – this could result in abnormal steering noises and greater effort being required to steer the vehicle. As such, this condition increased the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and others road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006150.

2022-24 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV: high-pressure fuel pump could leak

In November 2024, recall campaign 6YP was issued for 2022-24 Honda FL4 Civic e:HEV vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, the high-pressure fuel pump solenoid valve may develop cracks. This could cause a fuel leak which, in the presence of an external ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire. This posed a risk of injury to vehicle occupants and other road users, and a risk of damage to property. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006151.
