2023-24 Toyota XG10 Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid: potential loss of steering control

In November 2024, recall campaign ZGGA1 was issued for 2023-24 Toyota XG10 Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicles. Due to a manufacturing defect, cracks could developed in the upper universal joint of the steering intermediate shaft assembly. Over time, these cracks could widen due to repeated stress and this could lead to a loss of steering control. A loss of steering control would significantly increase the risk of a collision and injury to vehicle occupants and other road users. To fix, an authorised Toyota dealer was to replace the steering intermediate shaft. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006191.
