Generally, manufacturers will inform the original buyers if their vehicle is subject to a recall and of the steps required to remedy the defect or fault. Please note that the recalls below (if any) are for Australian-delivered vehicles only. Furthermore, the number of recalls should not be taken as an indication of a model’s reliability or its safety more generally.

2024 Lexus J250 GX 550: lower driver’s airbag may not deploy as intended
In March 2025, recall campaign ZFU03 was issued for 2024 Lexus J250 GX 550 vehicles. Due to an error in the fitting instructions for the optional Electric Brake Controller, the lower driver’s airbag assembly (which was removed during accessory fitment) may have been reinstalled using the incorrect torque. As a result, the lower driver’s airbag may not deploy as intended. In the event of a collision, failure to deploy as intended could increase the risk of injury for the driver. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006303.
2024 Lexus J250 GX 550: main crankshaft bearing failure
In November 2025, a recall campaign was issued for 2024 Lexus J250 GX 550 vehicles that were manufactured between 4 March 2024 and 3 April 2024. For these vehicles, engine machining debris may not have been cleared during manufacturing and may have contaminated the engine assembly. If machining debris adhered to the main crankshaft bearings and the engine operated at higher loads, the main crankshaft bearings could fail. This could cause engine knocking, rough running, stalling (i.e. a loss of drive) and/or a failure to start the engine. A loss of motive power whilst driving increased the risk of a collision to vehicle occupants and other road users. For the VINs of the recalled vehicles, please see REC-006478.
